Taxonomic Diversity Hidden Inside the Mantle of Octopus Vulgaris: Valuable Source of Information
نویسندگان
چکیده
The common octopus, Octopus vulgaris, is a very important demersal fishery resource targeted, among other fleets, by freezer bottom-trawlers in the Mauritanian Economic Exclusive Zone (MEEZ). From August 2010 to September 2011, total of 1696 octopuses caught MEEZ where analysed. Many organisms trapped into octopuses’ mantle were found and identified, which are jointly swept while trawling catches targeted species. A latitudinal (by ecoregion) depth study was performed determine differences taxonomic diversity these hidden organisms. findings showed that patterns similar already established area based on scientific surveys. Therefore, this ignored bycatch could provide complementary ecological information habitat O. vulgaris.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Cutaneous Respiration in Octopus Vulgaris
The skin of Octopus vulgaris consumes considerable quantities of oxygen in vitro, averaging 4.55×10−5±1.80×10−5 ml mm−2 h−1 (mean ± S.D.), if a flow is maintained over the skin sample (N=32). The consumption is higher still in vivo, 11.36×10−5±2.73×10−5 ml mm−2 h−1 (N=8), suggesting an additional net import of oxygen through the skin when the blood system is intact. If a substantial boundary la...
متن کاملObservational Learning in Octopus vulgaris.
Untrained Octopus vulgaris (observers) were allowed to watch conditioned Octopus(demonstrators) perform the task of selecting one of two objects that were presented simultaneously and differed only in color. After being placed in isolation, the observers, in a similar test, consistently selected the same object as did the demonstrators. This learning by observation occurred irrespective of the ...
